1. Welcome Back!
Dear JICS Families
Thank you for your encouraging responses to the 2022-2023 JICS Parent Handbook and the new information shared in last week’s Parent Information Post. The Parent Handbook is a living document, and it will be updated to include evolving nature of COVID-19, the Ministry of Education mandates, and requirements from Public Health.
Thank you also for completing all the SFO forms. We are preparing the Emergency Binders for every classroom with the important information you have provided.
If you have not done so already, please remember to review Parent Handbook and complete SFO Forms ASAP.
2. JICS Family Website and Weekly Posts
Beginning today, a weekly information email “post” with important information is sent to parents (every Thursday) and archived on the JICS Family website. You will also receive an email notice through the school database of new postings.
The JICS Family website has information about the school and an archive of Weekly posts from previous years.
3. Parent/Teacher September Social
Sept 15, 2022 | 6:00-8:00pm
It’s back and better than ever! The JICS Parents’ Association has been working hard to plan the best Parent/Teacher “September Social” possible. This longstanding cherished annual JICS community-building adult event has been missed and we are delighted that it will take place on Thursday, September 15, 6:00-8:00pm in the School Gym. Come out for a casual “wine and cheese” evening to meet new JICS faces, reconnect with old friends and make new ones. To make things easier for parents, the PA is supplying free babysitting for JICS students! Huge thanks to the PA!
4. PA Merchandise
The few remaining Parents’ Association’s JICS hoodies and hats will be on sale in the reception each workday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, until Thursday, September 1. The items are “pay-what-you-can” in support of the JICS Patrick Harvie Arts Fund. Our hope is to invite a clay potter this year to work with each class as part of our Arts Programme. Take advantage of this “end of season” sale and support a great initiative as you come in to drop off your tuition cheque.
Please make cheques payable to the "JICS Parents’ Association" or make a cash donation collected by Paige in reception.
5. Daycare Information
Information regarding programing and registration will be emailed to parents tomorrow.
6. Tuition Payment Delivery Schedule
Shama, in the School Office, will be accepting tuition cheques until Thursday, September 1. The school office is open, 9:00am-4:00pm.
