1. Travel during Winter Break

Families travelling abroad are required to complete the JICS travel form.

Please ensure that you are following the required protocols for safe travel as well as a safe return if you are traveling outside of the country. Note that teachers do not prepare work material for students if their absence is related to a vacation.

2. Letter from JICS PA Executive

Dear JICS Families,

If you had asked me on the first day of school if our children would still be attending JICS every day, I’m not sure I would have said ‘yes’. I am so grateful that our community has stayed mindful of our collective health and that has allowed our children and faculty to remain in school.

Thanking Teachers and Admin

As a thanks to our teachers and administrators, the PA, on behalf of all parents, sponsored a pizza lunch last week on Wednesday and today they will receive cupcakes from the Lunch Mom. For each of the following two terms, we will continue to find ways to thank our teachers for their hard work and dedication to teaching our children. We thank other grade cohorts and parents (such as the SK parents this week) who have also sponsored staff lunches and treats.

Gift Giving

Today, I started holiday shopping with eGift Cards that I purchased through Fundscrip. With every gift card purchased, a portion of the purchase price is donated to the JICS PA. This helps us to cover additional costs for this school year due to COVID, such as extra outdoor equipment for each cohort, so that our teachers don’t have to spend time cleaning the equipment every time a different cohort goes out to play. To purchase eGift Cards and regular Gift Cards that are sent to your inbox or your home, click here and be sure to use campaign code “7CUVLT” to direct donations towards the JICS PA.

If you are planning on purchasing Indigo eGift Cards, we receive an even better rate through FlipGive. Please click here to donate 20% of your purchases towards the JICS Library Fund (books, storytellers, and guest speakers, oh my!).

Finally, many of you parents have been purchasing JICS gear through our online store. Get your orders in soon as we are selling out quickly on the most popular items! Paige is helping us with delivery to your child’s backpack. Thanks Paige!

Donations

For those of you who participate in corporate giving through United Way, please consider donating a portion of your contribution towards the JICS PA. We have a goal of raising $5,600 through the United Way campaign. If we surpass this goal, we’ll assign all additional funds towards Tuition Support.

The JICS PA is registered as the “St. George’s School’s Parents Association” for historic reasons. You should just need the charity name and number to donate. Please contact Deepta Rayner if you experience any trouble donating through your employer.

Charitable Information: The St. George's School's Parents Association Reg #119175537RR0001

If you would like to donate directly to the Tuition Support Fund, please click here and select the Diana Rankin / Muncaster Family Tuition Support Fund.

Thanks,

JICS Parents' Association Executives
