We are one sleep away from yet another amazing year at Jackman ICS! It seems like the summer flew by and we are very excited to have everyone back along with some new faces. We look forward to seeing your children and hearing about your family’s summer holiday adventures. Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
Crossing Guard at Kendal and Walmer
Thanks to some tireless lobbying, we are excited to announce that, starting Wednesday, there will be a crossing guard in place on the south side of Kendal Ave at Walmer Rd. The guard will be present from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. in the morning and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. after school.
Change of Date: Parents’ Association Coffee on Thursday September 6
On the second day of school, Thursday September 6, the JICS Parents’ Association Executive will have coffee ready at drop off to welcome everyone and catch up as a community. All parents welcome!
Must Haves for the First Day
As we head back to school, we thought we’d provide you with a checklist of things to bring to school on the first day:
· Change of clothes, especially for younger years,
· Cheque for tuition and non-tuition fees,
· Hat and sunscreen for outdoor play,
· Labelled water bottle with spout (prevents spillage in the classroom) - purchase Mabel's Labels
and support JICS,
· Lunch for those attending daycare on the first day of school,
· Morning snack for grades 4-6.
JICS Swag – Get it Soon!
The deadline to get JICS swag is fast approaching. Make sure to get your orders in by Friday, September 7 to ensure your kid(s) are all kitted-up for the 2018-19 school year. You can order here.
PA Fees/Donations
A reminder that your PA fees and donations are not paid through Nancy at the school. Like last year, we are asking for a membership fee of $25 per child and a suggested donation of $150 per child. Donations can be paid here via Canada Helps are eligible for a tax receipt. Unfortunately, manual donations do not qualify for a tax receipt. Contributions will help fund classroom grants, technology purchases, event babysitting, parent education, social events and more!
