Dear Jackman ICS Families,
Next week, on Wednesday April 11, the Lab School will be transformed into the Jackman ICS Art Gallery for Art Night. Beginning at 7:00pm, we welcome all families to join us for a curated tour.
The title of the show is New Beginnings.
Tara and the Art Night Committee have designed a beautiful experience for families. A defined tour route has been planned with signs, teacher-helpers, and a detailed brochure. We ask that families stay together (children stay with their parents/care givers) to appreciate the incredible art created by the children that will be on display throughout the school. We will be sending a digital copy of the brochure early next week and will have hard copies available on Art Night.
This year, in addition to the beautiful works of art created with Tara in our wonderful Art program, we are excited to display the children’s images from their work with our Artist-in-Residence, Kelly Jazvac. Kelly Jazvac is an artist with an environmental focus: she works with salvaged plastic to make artworks that consider the longevity of disposable materials and the interconnectedness of these materials with humans, animals and the planet. Kelly invited JICS students to artistically repurpose a once loved object, taking before and after photos. These photos will be on display at Art Night.
