The winter term is off to a bustling start with the annual overnight trip to Camp Tawingo for the Gr 3 and Gr 4 children, new inquiry studies are beginning, and fresh packing snow is on the ground for perfect outdoor play. Each child has come back with a bright spirited eagerness to jump right in. We celebrate this engagement and thank you for encouraging it.
We are delighted that many of you have self-toured through the building to see for yourselves the beautiful new spaces. Please feel free to do that at any time! I am available to provide a “guided tour” for all interested parents on Thursday at 9:00 am. Let’s meet in the reception!
Official Opening Ceremony
We will be celebrating the official opening of our new building on January 26 at 1:00 pm in the J. Fraser Mustard Assembly Hall (our new gym). We would love to have you join us! The children will be joined by UofT President, Dr Gertler; OISE Dean, Dr. Jones and many friends and supporters of the lab school. Please RSVP if you are able to attend: 416-978-1064 or firstname.lastname@example.org by January 15. See invitation in the January 5th blog post.
Re-enrollment forms were emailed out today for the 2018-2019 school year. They are due in the office by January 26, 2018.
You may have noticed Grade 6 students who are assisting with morning drop off. Identified by their orange vests, these eager helpers are ready to help children in the younger grades by escorting them from the sidewalk to inside the school yard.
Research Night – January 22, 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Please mark your calendars for the highlight Parent Ed event of 2018! We have two internationally renowned researchers who are engaged in research at the Lab School. They will share their fascinating findings with you! Details and RSVP info coming soon.
Last year, many of you purchased IKEA lunch trays for your children. As the children no longer need these trays, they are ready for you to pick up from the school office by the end of the month. Any unclaimed trays will be donated.
Have a great week!
