Dear Jackman ICS Families,
It has been so wonderful to see all of you in these very first days of school. We are in awe of the readiness the students have already shown. They have leapt into school life in every class. They are part of creating a culture of high excitement about ideas and deep commitment to learning across the entire school. On behalf of the staff, I send you warm thanks and a special welcome to our brand new year.
Reminder: Our September Social is next week. RSVP now & request free babysitting Wednesday, September 13, 7:00pm
End of School Day/Dismissal Full day children are dismissed at 3:30 pm into the school yard. Parents and caregivers are welcome to wait in the school yard.
Students may not exit through the front door at the end of the day for safety reasons, as we provide supervision in our fenced yard to keep everyone safe. At 3:30 pm, again we ask that all parents and caregivers exit the yard so that the Daycare can access the licensed space for outdoor play-time.
Children who are not picked up will be escorted to the school office and parents will be contacted.
Arbor Awards
The President of the University, Professor Meric Gertler, confers awards on noted volunteers at the University each year. This year, we were fortunate to have two Lab School parents selected, and our very own SK Teacher. Tracy Pryce & Michael Salamon (parents of Anna, Grade 6 and Sophia, Grade 3), and SK Teacher, Carol Stephenson, will be honoured in recognition of their volunteer service to the Lab School.
Financial Assistance
At Jackman ICS we believe that every child who would like to be involved in our school and extra-curricular activities should have this opportunity regardless of the availability of family funds for these programs. If you would like to discuss financial assistance for any Jackman ICS program, please speak to me about our funds for this purpose.
