Lab School Book Fair and Book Night 2018

YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR ANNUAL LIBRARY FUNDRAISER: BOOK NIGHT 2018!

Join us for a Pyjama Party on Thursday, December 6, from 6:00-7:30pm. This fun night will include:

  • Book Fair from ‘Another Story Bookshop

  • Storytelling

  • Readings by the Book Club

  • Popcorn for all!

  • Literacy stations with activities around the room

  • Opportunity to purchase books from the JICS ‘Wish List’

  • Draws for raffle baskets!

Located in the West end of Toronto, Another Story Bookshop sells a broad range of literature for children with a focus on themes of social justice, equity, and diversity. On December 5th and 6th, they will set up shop right here at JICS in the lobby of 56 Spadina.

There will be a preview of the books from 9:30-12 on Wednesday December 5th, giving the children an opportunity to create wishlists. The books will be on sale during the evening event with Dr. Ross Greene on December 5th, and during the day on Thursday December 6th from 9:30am to 3:45pm, and then 5:30-8pm. A portion of the book sales will be donated to the JICS Library.

Why do we fundraise for the Library?

The Book Fair provides funds for our library to purchase diverse high-quality books. The Raffle helps us to bring authors, illustrators, and storytellers to our school to work with our students.

This is a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community during these dark winter evenings!

*****We are in need of donation items for our raffle baskets. Please bring donations to the main office by Monday December 3rd or sooner. We accept books, toys, tickets, and other gifts! No item is too small – we will be compiling baskets from all the donations.

******We are also looking for volunteers to help sell raffle tickets outside the front door from 8:20-9:00am on Dec. 3,4,5, and 6. Please email me if you can help!

Thanks so much,

Looking forward to enjoying the evening with you all!
