Hot Dog Night – Tuesday! (May 28, 6:00 – 8:00pm)
Hot dogs, Jamie Kennedy French Fries, ice cream, DJ Sudz, games for kids (inflatable maze, treasure hunt in the sand, button making), raffle prizes, and beer/wine for adults…all in the JICS school yard! Tickets are now on sale: $5 per child and $15 per adult at https://www.jicsfamily.com/events-1/hot-dog-night Raffle prizes are a class ice cream party + summer fun activity basket OR a case of assorted wines chosen by Grade One families. Raffle tickets are 1 for $5 and 3 for $10.
Grandpals Day Thank you!
It was a great pleasure to see so many Grandpals yesterday morning. We had over 100 guests taking part in our school assembly, visiting classrooms, and touring the school. The event was highly anticipated by the children and it was clear by the smiles on their faces how delighted they were to share their school with their special guest. We planned this event to honour the special relationship that children have with grandparents and other important adults in their lives.
Yesterday’s event would not be possible without the volunteer work and dedicated commitment of the PA Executive Members, many JICS parents, teachers, and staff. Thank you to JICS parents, Amy Cheung and Shone Joos, for your leadership!
Music Night – A triumph!
Thank you for your feedback about Music Night. We received many reports and emails stating how much you enjoyed the evening – the 20th anniversary of Music Night at JICS. The J. Fraser Mustard Assembly Hall was filled with student (and audience!) enthusiasm and delight. It was clear how proud the students were of their singing and compositions. It was also clear how inspired they were by each other's performances. Parents and guests in the audience were radiating a similar proud and joyful energy as well! Many thanks to Suzanne and Russell, for all your work in the music program this year and to Nick and Krista, for your support of the evening. Thank you, parents, for your donations to the Patrick Harvie Arts Fund – we raised $738 toward enriching the Arts at JICS!
