Dear Families,
We are writing today to let you about two staff members who will be leaving us this Spring.
In June, we will say goodbye to Debbie Young, our beloved Nursery and SK Assistant Teacher. Debbie came to us first in 2000 and has since touched the lives of many JICS children and their families. We thank Debbie for her many years of teaching our students. We remember Debbie’s depth of understanding of each child, her creative and thoughtful programming, and the warmth of her care. She will be missed by all who have known her. We will be hiring a new Nursery Assistant Teacher to join the Nursery teaching team.
We also want to let you know that we will be restructuring the roles of office staff and as a result will be saying goodbye to Holly Huizenga at the end of May. Holly has worked as our wonderful communications associate and administrative assistant since 2011. We thank Holly for her years of dedication to this role and for her exemplary behind the scenes support for the Lab School. Holly is a professional logistician who has an innate ability to plan events and schedules, know where everybody is at all times, and anticipate what’s needed. She will be greatly missed by admin staff, teachers, student teachers, parents, and children.
We wish Debbie and Holly all the best in their future endeavours.
