Dear Parents,
This is Anna (Gr 6), Grace (Gr 3), Sophia S. (Gr 3), and Catherine (Gr 1). We would like to introduce ourselves to you. We will be the new JICS Principals on Friday, May 11! That’s right, we will be taking over Richard’s office and role and we have designed a special day for all JICS students, JK to Grade 6. (Norah has planned a special morning for the Nursery children!)
On Friday morning, all classes with have an extra-special Special Friends time and extra-long recesses! We know that all JICS children will love this change!
Also, we have organized for UofT Varsity men’s basketball coach, Ryan to lead basketball workshops with each class. (Ryan previously played basketball in the NCAA for Hillsdale College.) He will be joined by current UofT players: Sage and Daniel. We thought this would be a great way to use our new gym on our special day!
In the afternoon, all children will be asked to sign up to see a movie. The choices are: “Totoro”, “Moana”, “The Lorax” or “The Incredibles”. Of course, popcorn will be provided! Children who would prefer not to sign up for a movie will be able to play in one of the available classrooms (don’t worry – they will also get popcorn!).
We want to take this opportunity to thank our parents, Beth Corcoran and Jonathan Newton, and Tracy Pryce and Michael Salamon for winning this prize of “Principal for the Day” at the gala auction in May 2017 in support of tuition support (Diana Rankin Muncaster Family Tuition Support Fund) at JICS.
