Dear JICS Families,
We are delighted to announce that the official completion of the school building construction is November 15. I have been touring our teachers and staff in the new space in this week (see twitter for pics) and there is much excitement in the air as we anticipate our new lunchroom, gymnasium, Art room, and classrooms for Grades 4, 5 and 6. We will have an official opening celebration in January and details about that event will be shared soon.
I write to you to reiterate our gratitude for all of the parent support for this initiative. For your enthusiasm for this undertaking, your patience, and understanding with the delays of this project, and for your financial support of this wonderful expansion.
Some of you may not be aware of the significant financial contribution by current and alumni JICS families. I would like to acknowledge these contributions again today as a reminder of the strength and generosity of our community. Like all contributions - attendance at school functions, volunteerism at events both big and small - financial contributions are important to our school. Current and alumni JICS families contributed more than $7 million to this campaign. I am pleased to let you know that, although our capital campaign is closed, there are many ways to continue to give financially. The Parents' Association Executive and the school administration have identified the following sponsorship opportunities (individual or corporate); all are eligible for a tax receipt. Please take a look and let me know if you are interested in contributing.
While we recognize that not everyone is financially able to commit to sponsorships of this scale, we remind you that simply paying your membership fees to the Parents’ Association and donating what you are able to the PA goes a long way to achieving other equally important experience-enhancing goals for our kids.
