Daycare Newsletter

Dear Parents,

We are already in October and the wonderful weather we have experienced allows us to spend the majority of time outside in the school yard. Outdoor play is a vital part of your child's day - a time that provides opportunities for relationship building, collaborative games, self-directed play and time to be with friends of all ages. Below are a few reminders and some new items that might interest you.

Nursery Children:

  • On Wednesdays, children need to bring a lunch

  • Each Friday, the rest sheets are sent home to be washed and returned on Mondays. Thank you for your assistance.

  • The schedule for your child is as follows:

  • 12:00-12:40 lunch with adult assistance, if needed

  • 12:40-1:00 story time: stories read by ECE staff member

  • 1:00-2:30 rest time: sleep, puzzles, books

  • 2:30-3:30 play time, snack, story, pick up

  • 3:30-6:00 JK and SK students join our group. Outdoor play / indoor play

  • Staff: Silvana 11:00-6:00; Chriss 11:30-6:00; Kenisha 12:00-5:00 (M,T,W,F)

Morning Care:

Luis welcomes the children beginning at 8:00am with a big smile and open arms. He provides table activities which the children enjoy doing with their friends and siblings. At 8:45, Luis dismisses the older children and he escorts the younger Nursery children to their classroom.

Afternoon Care:

It is so lovely to observe the JK children make connections with the new Nursery children in the Primary Group. The children are enjoying the beautifully renovated Nursery room.

Clubs:

Creative Play on Wednesday for JK and SK children: Chris and Debbie are working with the children on explorational play and providing many art projects this term.

Chess on Mondays, 3:30-4:45: Sasa has welcomed 11 children this term. There is still space for more. Let us know if you are interested. This club is open to daycare + non-daycare students.

New this term:

We will be having clubs where the registered Daycare children can sign up weekly. Sign ups will be posted soon. Here are some examples:

  • "Kooking" with "Kenny"

  • Study Room

  • Art Crazies

  • Jewelry making

  • Baking scones

  • and more.....

Take care,
